This appears to be a very lightly circulated recording, it’s a fine capture close to the stage.

There were a number of issues to deal with, the most severe was the pitch being extremely slow and requiring a whopping +110 cents adjustment to correct.

In addition, the frequency spectrum was very limited and leaned heavily towards the low end but I am pleased with how the mastering turned out making this a solid listen and a nice addition to the available recordings for a great tour.

It is possible it’s missing a song or two, though it plays continuous and there doesn’t seem to be any glaring cuts, “Late For The Sky” in particular appears to have been played often on this tour. There are a lot of partial setlists on line for the tour so it’s difficult to get a sense of what the “standard” setlist was for each night. It is confirmed as Kansas City due to a city name check by Jackson during the show.

Big thanks to MR for the transfer and the .wav file out of his collection.

  1. Hi Mat,

Thank you for posting this!! Jackson is the man!! The 76 tour was brilliant imho. Lindley’s playing was spot on and the recent passing of JB’s wife in March of 76 made these songs that much more poignant. Farther On (third track off Late For The Sky is one of my all time favorite Jackson songs and I love how they play it on this tour. Please keep the JB coming and if you need any other of his shows, I’d be able to provide some shows that you may not have. Lmk.

Thanks for this show- my only copy is a high generation cassette tape that I got back in the late 80s!

    1. You are very welcome. I’m glad you are enjoying them. I’m not actually a Jackson Browne collector but a friend of the site sent me a bunch of his shows and I’m happy to pass them along. I’ve still got quite a few more to posts. Once I’m done I’d be happy to look at any you want to send my way.

      Thank you.
