A very cool show from 14 years ago. Steve with a great, great back up band playing his songs, and some nice covers.

One of the great songwriters of the last hundred years. This recording is phenomenal. Recorded for a radio show and you can really tell he’s tossed out all the stops and tried to make this show something special. And it is. The “Diamonds” opener gives me chills, and it gets better from there. If you are a fan, this is a must-have.

What else can I say about Willie Nelson? I love that raggedly, pot smoking old man. Willie Nelson writes songs like a drunken poet, plays them like they are the greatest music ever written (and sometimes they are) and sings them like they’ve never been sung before. Live he is the consummate showman filling in the time allotted like he has to fit in every song he’s ever known. His concerts make like some manic medley. Likely it won’t be the greatest concert you’ve ever seen, yet likely it will be something you’ll never forget.

The sound here is really nice, and the playing is spot on Willie. Good times!
