Bob Dylan – One More Night (Keep The Woman Back), 1990 Early Summer Tour

Bob Dylan
1990 ONE MORE NIGHT (KEEP THE WOMAN BACK)
Pink Panter Records
1990 Early Summer Tour of North America (mainly Canada)

This has always been a very difficult tour leg to get your mind around
because there are a lot of bad sounding tapes & a lot of misinformation.

The almost always reliable Jokerman is missing in action here with many recommended tapes actually sounding poor
& some excellent sounding tapes being rated as poor. Never mind, it is all sorted out here.

The real find are the last two concerts from Winnipeg, particularly 6/18 which is a brilliant performance in great sound.
Winnipeg 6/18 is presented in its entirity here.

So what have we got with this one?:
an interesting combination of some of the “heaviest” electric songs since Bob let the band go feral in late-78
with Billy Cross on lead guitar – Bob actually lets GE solo on much of this;
a great emphasis on the new “acoustic with the band” format of 60s & 70s classics, which gives them a richer sound; &
lots & lots of harmonica.

Bob & the band are all in great form here – maybe not quite as good as the preceding Fastbreak Tour but still premium Bob.
However, there has been a deliberate attempt to change the sound & this is what you get.

A real gem is Bob playing piano on Where Teardrops Fall (Kingston 5/30)
which is as good a performance as the piano Disease Of Conceit (London 2/8 Fastbreak Tour).

If you want to hear electric GE with all the stops out, try Highway 61 Revisited (Winnipeg 6/17) or Political World (Winnipeg 6/18).
If you want brilliant “acoustic with the band”, try No More One More Time (Winnipeg 6/17).
& then there is crazy – Ronnie Hawkins antics (Toronto 6/6) or the “heavy electric” experimental The Times They Are A Changin’ (Toronto 6/5).
I love this tour leg – you might too. The sound is much, much better than you might thing.
& DON’T FORGET TO LOCK UP THE WILD WOMEN BEFORE YOU PLAY THE RONNIE HAWKINS TRACKS OR ANYTHING MIGHT HAPPEN.

all sourced from 100% lossless FLAC from best available sound sources.

The emphasis here is on the classic 60s & 70s songs, with emphasis on the acoustic songs which were played in the new “acoustic with the band” format.

It was, as was all of 1990, a wild setlist ride.

Statistics for this compilation (yes, lies, damn lies & statistics masquerading as facts)

66 ball-tearing, sensational tracks
56 different songs
11 concerts are represented here (from the total of 16 concerts)
5 hours & 16 minutes of music
1 bob

All sound played on the tour leg are represented here.

The setlists were highly variable from night to night, with
9 songs being played ten or more times,
26 songs being played five or more times, and
19 songs only played once or twice.
