Title: THE BOB DYLAN SHOW 5/29/05 Brighthouse Field, Clearwater, FL

Bob Dylan & His Band May 29, 2005
Bright House Network Field, Clearwater, Florida

ECM-717(Mic)->MZ-N707(minidisc)->MXD-D40->
Harddrive->CDwav->Cool Edit Pro-> CDR->Flac

This show was at a minor league baseball field. The Green Cards opened up
before Willie Nelson took the stage. After Willie’s set, Bob came
on and gave us a real fan’s setlist. His new band seems to be more
of a boogie-woogie band than the previous musicians that played with
him on the 2003 tour that I saw. The songs tend to swing a bit and
are somewhat stretched out.

The stage was setup at the center field wall and the soundboard tent
was at the end of the infield. The audiance had free roam of the stadium
and the outfield, but the infield and dugouts were fenced off.

I stood about 20 feet to the right of the soundboard. The sound was
pretty good for an open field, the crowd mostly noticable between songs.
As always, your results may vary.

I had two drop-outs in this recording. – One, at the :47 sec mark on
“Love Minus Zero(No Limit)” and one at the 1:44 mark on “The Times
They Are A Changin'”. Both drop-outs were less than a second, so I
dropped them into Cool-Edit Pro and closed up the gaps.

I was snapping pics during Willie’s set and got busted with the camera
so there are no pics of Bob contained herein. If anyone was there and
would like to add their Bob pics, I’ll adjust the artwork to include them.

Included is artwork, ticket stub, and a newspaper ad for the show.
Enjoy !!
all my best,

ALD-Soundboard recording (a Jim Fiesler recording)
Here’s another fine Jim Fiesler recording brought to you by TheCommish!

Lineage: ALD/SBD > D8 (listen box–from the parking lot) DAT > CDR
CDR > EAC > WAV (see editing notes) > Flac Frontend > FLAC (SBE-aligned)

Additional editing notes:
* Deleted 31 seconds of opening applause at beginning of Track 02
* Faded in applause on Track 102, faded out applause on Track 15 (with Nero)
* Re-tracked show by combining in Nero, splitting with CD Wave; as you can imagine, this isn’t an easy task for a comedy act like Carlin…I tried to separate the show by main topics discussed (also, the track names are made up to fit the material)
* Show was recorded out-of-phase; show was phase-corrected (to be “in-phase”) via Cool Edit Pro

ALD (assisted listening device) soundboard recordings are usually knocked for their “thin” sound quality (high amount of treble, not enough bass), but I don’t think that’s a real issue here at all. As such, Jim’s files have been unaltered for sound quality (i.e., no EQ performed)–if some of you prefer to have more bass in your ALD recordings, I’ll let you do your own EQ work since it then becomes a matter of personal taste. As for me, I think the show sounds great, as-is.

Jim Fiesler notes:
(regarding his ALD-SBD shows): “ALDs (fm-sbd) perfect captures in most or all cases..however somewhat lacking bass..more than regular fm..The best place to rec these shows was from the park lot..! the signal was the best there..!”
