Notes: Kingfish was fundamentally different to the more celebrated bands that Bob Weir and Dave Torbert hailed from. They clearly dug deep into their mutual love of American roots music to fashion a repertoire that established Kingfish as its own entity. The setlist performed here reflects the soul of their repertoire and finds Weir enjoying a brief sojourn from his obligations with the Grateful Dead while they took a well-earned break.

As for Bob Weir, nobody was really sure what a hiatus for the Dead meant, and Kingfish could have blossomed if the Dead had remained on the bricks, but Weir had a fantastic few hundred hours jamming with friends as this performance easily shows.

Klondike proudly presents the entire original WLIR-FM broadcast of Bob Weir with Kingfish live at Calderone Concert Hall, Hempstead, NY from 27th March 1976.

Professionally re-mastered original broadcast with background liners and rare archival photos! An exceptional celebration of the American songbook and a valuable addition for fans of NRPS and Grateful Dead.

Pink Floyd – The Syd Barrett Years 1965-1971

PINK FLOYD
The Syd Barrett Years

This set was compiled from the best available sources and remastered with care. There was no hiss reduction or fake stereo processing done to this set. Mono recordings appear here in true mono. I was often able to reduce hiss with EQ rather than harsh processing. These tracks were remastered in a similiar fashion to the official Pink Floyd remasters, so excellent quality tracks such as the legendary unreleased “Vegetable Man” and “Scream Thy Last Scream” will blend in nicely on your own Floyd mix CD or playlist. The BBC Sessions appear here with the original DJ intros and have been edited to flow straight through with each broadcast. I am not a member of the Pink Floyd bootleg community, but I am a huge Syd Barrett fan. I was given the raw material for this set by a knowledgeable Floyd collector. I have no idea if all these sources are widely circulating, but the I’ve been told that this set beats all the other common ones, so if you’re a fan, you definitely need this set

SBD > pre-FM > Nakamichi 550 > cassette > Nakamichi CR7a > SBM1 > Lynx > WAV > Soundforge > WAV > SHN>MP3

Tech Notes:

Known flaws:
1. Static during “(introduction)” and start of “Phase Dance”.
2. Missing track marker (d1t07 at about 9:34) for “Jaco”.

Recording notes:
WLIR/WRVR broadcast, pre FM source.

This recording is directly from the broadcast truck’s soundboard,
not the house board.

The original Maxell XL-2 dolby cassette master was recorded on a
Nakamichi 550 and has been transfered [in 2002-09] to cd via a
calibrated Nakamichi CR7a through an SBM1 to a Lynx card.
Edited and mastered in SoundForge.
