Notes:
– John Rich plays pedal steel guitar on all but Let it Rock and
Ride Mighty High.
– There is some oversaturation throughout the recording, most
prominently during Mystery Train and Ride Mighty High, but it
isn’t too bad.

Flaws:
d1t05 TLEO cuts in, not much missing
d1t05 TLEO cut/splice @ 0:17
d2t03 Knockin’ cut/splice @ 11:21, 14:52 (near end)
d2t04 Mystery Train light tick @ 6:09 removed using Sound Forge
d2t06 Ride Mighty High very end cut

Notes:

As of October 2010, this is the first source for this date (Sbd or
Aud) to circulate losslessly.

There is a guest pedal-steel player, according to Deadbase & jerrysite,
this is John Rich. Sugaree cuts in during Keith’s solo, about a third way
into the song. The first notes are clipped on Way You Do and Let It Rock.
A fifteen second drop-out at 1:03 of Tore Up has been cross-faded together,
then the recording cuts out altogether in the final verse near the end.

Deadbase & jerrysite list two songs after Tore Up, those being: Strange Man
and “Singin’ In The Band.” This latter song appears no where else in JG’s
performance history, so might be a mistaken entry from someone’s old list,
and could possibly have been Ride Mighty High, which was the common show
closer during 1976. This is the first live version of Tangled Up In Blue.

Notes:
– Show with John Rich on pedal steel guitar, to very nice effect IMO!
– recording is thin (very little bass), a little quiet, a little hissy.
But it’s altogether listenable.
– d1t04 setbreak announcement “We’re gonna try to get ourselves
together”
– d2t06 Ride Mighty High starts off low volume, ends up being a pretty
cool version, here again with the two guitars working well together.

Notes/Flaws:
– This is a beautiful recording of an extremely laid back show. The original .shn set had the end of How Sweet It is clipped, as
well as a reel flip in Mystery Train. How Sweet lacked about nine seconds at the every end, which I patched in along with the
set break announcement and crowd. I patched about 23 seconds of missing material over the reel flip in Mystery Train. Patch
material was provided by the amazing audience recording made by Bob Menke and Louis Falanga (Sony ECM-250 + Sony ECM-270 mics
[onstage] > Sony TC-152 master cassettes). I re-.shn’d other tracks to make them seekable, hence the all new md5s.
– No flaws noted.

Notes/Flaws:
– A gorgeous audience recording of a characteristically sleepy early ’76 show. There are a number of minor blemishes here
and there (some noted below), but they don’t retract from the overall high quality of this recording. I looked at removing
the blemishes with Sound Forge, but most of them just weren’t visible or fixable. There is also a beautiful soundboard
(MSR>C>D>CD) of this show in light circulation, but my copy of it has lots more blemishes than this one, and it is also fairly
cut up, including missing several songs.
– d1t01 Every Word You Say pop @ 2:31.
– d1t04 Who Was John pops @ 9:30, 9:50.
– d2t02 Harder They Come tapping on mic @ start.
– d2t03 Knockin’ pop @ 9:09.
– There may be other blemishes that I failed to note.

The aud tape, recorded by Mike Riley with unknown gear, supplies set I and the first two songs of set II. The taper was busted after Gomorrah. For that material, Michael Parrish’s first gen reels were transferred directly to CD, w/ no DAT stage. A nice soundboard, apparently (per Kevin Tobin) from a cassette master and
with two subsquent cassette gens, supplies the end ofset II. Shntool confirms proper sector boundaries for all tracks.
