* – The noise that begins here is due to the singing of the cicada bugs in the trees nearby. The cicadas began to sing roughly 45 minutes before the torrential downpour started (see below), approximately also 45 minutes after the start of the show.

** – When the rain began in earnest, I slid a yard-trash bag over the mics. Once the tapers in front of me offered me an umbrella (thanks Frank & Charles), I removed the bags. This lasted roughly 90 seconds of Bela’s banjo solo. The plastic killed the sound quality, although the sound of plastic bags dragging across windscreens and mics is truely unique. During this time, the PA was also draped with tarps by the stage crew. I removed the unusable audio section,and crossfaded back over the solo itself, once the bags had been removed, leaving a relatively seamless transition.

*** – The noise around 24:31 of track 18 (right track only) is the sound of the FOH tent getting
setup to combat the rain, and hitting my mic stand in the process.
