My copy of this show came with the San Francisco show from Dec 1965 (which you can grab here). I have broken them up for the blog so that they will both be easier to find when searching, but I have kept all the notes that came with the set in both downloads. – Mat

From those notes:

I had a chance to listen to the two Dylan concert items in the Stanford Library Archive labeled as:
MO733 Box 119, reel 7, Bob Dylan, San Jose 1965, Dec 12th
MO733 Box 134, reel 5, San Francisco, undated

Box 119 contains the entire San Jose Civic Auditorium concert from December 12th, complete acoustic and electric sets

The Berkeley December 4th show does NOT exist. It has been mislabeled all these years, it is actually the San Jose set. The electric set from San Jose is the exact circulating recording that has been available over the years labeled as Berkeley Community Theater. I guess I’m making a habit of correcting Sony mislabeling stuff, kinda funny.

Show Notes from the original uploader:
Adele rolling through again with a big summer tour. Voice sounds great. Do wish the setlist was a bit longer, but she’s certainly committed to the audience engagement with multiple 3-8 minute chat sessions between songs. At least she’s witty and charming (to each their own though). I did prefer the show I saw on the 2011 tour, as it had less stage production and featured Singer + Band on same stage. This tour has Adele front and center, with the band in a recessed stage. Although a few songs she brings some band members upfront. All and all, a good show and was enjoyed by the womenfolk accompanying me.

Recording Notes:
This is a mix of a couple IEM feeds plus Schoeps audio. Crowd noise is generally well behaved in the Schoeps recording, but there are occasional individual crowd noises throughout the show. The IEM feeds have metronome throughout songs along with counts during sounds. I’ve zapped all the counts and significantly reduced the metronome. However, the metronome is still there. I could be more aggressive with the filtering but it would then start to degrade the music. Regarding the mix, I usually do more of a band mix, but I kept her vocals more upfront than I usually do. After all, people come to hear Adele sing, and not guitar solos. I compared to the PA mix through the schoeps, and that’s how the sound guy keeps the overall balance too.

Review by Jon Strand: Soundboard recording with great separation between voices and the various instruments.
Van and everyone are in great voice (I have never heard Brian Kennedy stronger and more soulful.
Actually, I’ve never connected Brian Kennedy with “soulful” before, but it’s certainly true here.)
The horns play wonderfully throughout, both on solos and ensemble work.

The whole band is very tight (and loose.) Very “on:” Van calling out the song titles to the band.
Dedicating “That’s Life” to Frank Sinatra (“lest we forget.”)

“Whenever God Shines His Light” becomes “Whenever (Sir) Cliff Shines His Light.” Great intro to “Man’s World.”
This is one of the live CDs that make you keep looking for others out there.

A great performance, well captured.
Notes: If you have Nights Of The Living Icons, you can hear the same performance of “Fire In The Belly,” but from the audience point of view. This CD is not to be confused with On the Burning Ground (Randall’s Island, New York City, June 14, 1997).

Comments form Monicasdude’s site:
DEEP: The complete Applied Materials arena gig presented in crisp, clear and upfront quality.
A fine recording, with distinct instrumentation and separation, excellent balance and Bob’s vocals
riding nicely in front of it all. Very energetic and inspired performance, with strong and charismatic vocals by Bob. The band senses the energy and provides strong, muscular backing,
to boot. They all sound like they are having a ball, which makes for some great listening.

The bonus tracks were thoughtfully selected, a notch below the San Jose quality-wise but still very good.
