I’m really surprised that nobody commented on this — yes, very traditional sounding vocals but Garcia’s spot on banjo pickin’ is something to behold…….. Matt- hope all is going well with your soon to be relocation……. P.S. – I noticed that you had some Dayid Bromberg stuff posted. Any way to re-up that someday? …….Best to you and yours……….. Tom
I’ve found that while there are quite a few deadheads that come to my site they are generally a lot more quiet in terms of commenting than my Van and Dylan fans. No idea why, but Dead related stuff rarely gets the big comments.
This is a cool show. Always fun to hear early Jerry doing bluegrass stuff.
Leave me a comment on that Bromberg show so I’ll remember to upload it. My plan is that when I get fast internet again I’ll go back and reupload all requests. I’ll probably do it here and there and not in one big chunk but I’ll try to get to everything.
Pretty sure bromberg is the 1st live concert I ever went to. Had to be mid to later 60’s, at the Belmont plateau, Belmont Park, Philly. Not sure if song goes back that far but I just love “lectric chair”…”judge, judge, big fine judge, send me to the “lectric chair..
Hey! Thanks for this! I acquired a bootleg of this show with no info at all – actually just labeled “JGB”… Oh how I love the Internet. I was wondering who all was involved and where it was. Grateful to be able to get the info and update my file with better info and track titles. Thanks again. 🙂

You are welcome. Always happy to provide you some new Jerry. I’m the same in terms of Jerry introducing me to all sorts of cool music.
While I had certainly gone to a few GD shows by 1975 (pretty hazy regarding details) I still remember the day my neighbor burst into the apartment “You GOTTA hear this!!” and proceeded to spin OAITW. Of course, the Beverly Hillbillies theme song & Andy Griffith Show’s “The Darlings” AKA The Dillards had wafted my way but this record grabbed me by the collar and stood me right up! Suddenly I found myself attending the great late ’70’s bluegrass festivals in my area, managing to see John Hartford/New Grass Revival/Red Clay Ramblers/Tasty Licks (with a very young Bela Fleck), really too many to remember, and even took my dad (born/raised in the Smoky Mountains while I sprouted in MA/CT) to see Bill Monroe.
