LB-2573, (79:48 ), version “a”; Complete SOUNDBOARD recording, Incomplete concert.;; light tv band on left channel on d1t7; very good to excellent sound [B+]; same sbd recording as LB-1317 but, this has slightly lower levels and does not have the occasional harshness on LB-1317 caused by clipping; so this one also more complete and sounds better ; in comparison to bootleg “Over the Broken Glass” this has a warmer fuller sound

This is the 19th Show of Bob Dylan’s 1984 tour with former Rolling Stones guitarist Mick Taylor. Not the complete show since “License to Kill” is missing, sorry. A very good show there is a bit of complacency on this one, especially at the beginning of the show. “Masters of War” has an interesting staccato tempo. Listen to the sincerity of Dylan’s voice and how he builds “Every Grain of Sand.” Too bad he never reaches the climax on it. Dylan speaks some Spanish to the crowd. We get “Knocking on Heavens Door” here which is good. Believe it or not even though his tone is horrendous, Santana actually seems to give a solo that fits into the context of the song on “Blowing in the Wind.” Also, Mick Taylor can be heard playing slide on it and Dylan’s singing is great.

Right now is the 20th Anniversary of those shows and I thought it would be cool to release each show to STG on the date of the actual show plus 20 years. So, here is the nineteenth show; only 8 more!!! We’ll see if I can keep up with the rest of the tour. So
far so good!

HAS ANYONE BEEN ABLE TO LISTEN TO ALL OF THESE SO FAR????

The following comments are from Bobsboots:

This show has been in the hands of a few tape traders since soon after the performance, but this is the first commercial release of the entire, although slightly edited Dylan portion of the concert. Missing are the gospel songs that The Queens Of Rhythm open the show with, and there are a couple of in between song splices. The show was professionally recorded by Dylan’s touring sound crew, but that tape has never surfaced. There is a slight cover discrepancy as to the placement of Dead Man on the back cover, as the cover information was taken from volume four of Olof’s files. The correct play order appears above.
