The Who – Liverpool, England (05/14/71)

The Who
Liverpool University, England
14 May 1971

A fair audience recording with a little distortion, but definitely listenable. The first 74 minutes of the show are here intact, but the rest is missing. ‘My Generation’ and ‘Won’t Get Fooled Again’ supposedly rounded out the performance.

Vintage Who here, recorded while ‘Who’s Next’ was being completed and featuring mostly new material. Includes rare versions of ‘Time Is Passing’, ‘Getting in Tune’, and ‘Too Much of Anything’, all dropped by the time they toured the States.

Mike Millard recorded both the Los Angeles Forum (1975-06-21) and Long Beach Yes shows of 1975. For audio quality, this is the better of the two. The audio is much better to the two 1974 Tales shows, probably due to an upgrade of gear. You might think this was a soundboard recording, if you didn’t know better. As for the performance, Yes is hot, but there are some crackles and Jon’s voice is kind of ragged, as if the smog in Southern California was getting to him.

Art is not included with the torrent but I’m sure there is some floating around, and hopefully some friends will post theirs.

In 1975, Yes were:
Jon Anderson
Chris Squire
Steve Howe
Alan White
Patrick Moraz

I recently picked this one up in a trade but it was not listed as 1984-10-23 Nantes, France in the trade
It had been mis-labled 10/28/84 Vorst National, Belgium (SBD) So some of you that have 10/28/84 (SBD) might wanna check to see what you have, Chances are it is this one (Nantes)

When i A>B this against my other Nantes 84 SBD’s i found this one to be of much better quality than others i have this version has better dynamics than others i have in my collection and seems to have a lot less Tape background hiss (Meaning less tape>tape generations) also i noticed that this version to be more on centre and better stereo whereas other versions all seem to favour one channel.

So i thought i would pass on this version
as i do think this to be the best of the 1984-10-23’s
