John Lennon – Complete Clock Soundtrack

John Lennon
Complete “Clock” Soundtrack
(1971 St. Regis Hotel & Hotel Syracuse,NY CD 1) Green Grape

“Filmed one September afternoon shortly after the Lennons’ arrival in New York during their stay at the St. Regis Hotel, Clock was yet another attempt of Yoko’s at treading the same ground as Andy Warhol and his film works like Empire State, which simply presented the edifice of the famed New York landmark for 24 hours.”
(Eight Arms To Hold You, Madinger & Easter, p. 59) The movie starred a clock on the dresser in the Lennon suite tat was simply filmed in one take while an hour ticked by. The soundtrack consisted of JOhn busking through a repertoire of his favourite RnR oldies, as well as his newly written ode to his new place of residence. This is the most complete version that we have so far as compiled by Green Grape, half of the material is still unaccounted for.

John Lee Hooker – Santa Rosa, CA (03/17/89)

John Lee Hooker
with guest guitarist Carlos Santana
March 17, 1989
Luther Burbank Center
Santa Rosa, California, USA

From a 1st gen. audience VHS tape. Decent quality “stage recording” audio from a 1st gen. VHS tape. As is typical for this type of audience recording the instruments sound great but the vocals are a bit in the background. Carlos is out there for most of the set but there are 3 other guitarists and he is the guest so he doesn’t solo that much. But there are a few really ripping guitar solos if you know where to find them. Since the DVD video will have AC3 (Dolby Digital) audio this lossless version is for those who might want it this way too. I’m posting this before the video because I need some help with the setlist for the DVD authoring. I did the best I could but any additions/corrections will be much appreciated and the DVD video will follow shortly.

track02 (Resolution complete raw) 32:24

After some 18 hours of work I can offer to you this very rare (to me a premiere) version of RESOLUTION,
the second movement of A Love Supreme, the first live known to exist to my knowledge.

The original Tape (you’ll find it as Track02) was very noisy and needed a lot of volume adjustment.

The Bass solo is divided into 2 parts because it seems to come from to different sources.
The first part was almost inaudible and I had to pump up the volume to make it listenable (but almost without
ambiance noises )
The second part was pretty much louder and with a lot of noises as if the taper moved to a better place
to record the bass (it seems to me that there might be some music missing here in between).

Hope you all enjoy

Thanks to Peter losin for the original CD
