Note from the original uploader:
Given the huge difference in pitch between the two sets I strongly doubt if they’re
from the same source. I’m sure Set I has at least an extra C gen or two, also
because it’s not nearly as clear-sounding as set II. That said, it still sounds
decent, and not nearly as warbly once the pitch was corrected.

*Matrix*

I think I’ve mentioned that Deadheads get a little bit obsessive. This is a good example. Last night I posted the soundboard version of this show, and now we’ve got the Matrix version. For those who don’t know a soundboard copy is simply a show that was recorded off of a direct plug into the actual soundboard. Usually that’s going to give you the best possible sound as you’re actually getting the mix before it even goes out to the house speakers. An audience recording is obviously when a member of the audience throws up some microphones and records the show. The sound quality is usually not as good as a soundboard, but some people really like AUD tapes as you get more crowd noise and it feels a bit like you are actually right there in the thick of things. A matrix is when someone combines the two sources. The idea is that you still get the high quality sound of a soundboard tape, but also get some ambient crowd noise that gives off the feel of being right there. Personally I still prefer a soundboard, but for those who wanna hear some crowd here’s the matrix.
