I first found the ultimate place to record the bands (close to the stage under the right suspended PA) but after hours, my wife had a short dizzy turn due to crowd immersion and extremely loud basses delivered by the Gary Clark band. So we had to move to fresh air. When i wanted to join this position again it was impossible and i had to stand 15/20 meters from stage still facing right PA. It was very uncomfortable to be surrounded by the crowd with a lot of people movement, (mainly by very talkative Spanish people – don’t insult me, i really love Spanish guys, but just not when they are drunk at a C Horse show -).
Some were fair when i explained i planned to record the show (i promised to share it with them if they don’t shout) but others did not; it’s not a sin to celebrate the Horse.

By chance, we can hear chating around the mics only during the quiets songs and not throughout.
Finally, only Blowin’ in he wind suffered from this bad treatment and it’s a very unjoyable recording.

The show was classic considering this European tour setlists, except for a double second solo on Powderfinger and Human highway.

2 x AT 831 mics connected to 2 x AT 8531 power modules, to R05 (24/48).
Downsampled 16/44 wav tracks to PC, Audacity (volume, a bit of EQ, tracks), FLAC (TLH).

My first time seeing Neil since 2009 and my first time seeing him with
the Horse since he played in Dublin in 2001.

A pretty good show although I think Neil kinda lost the crowd with the
feedback at the end of Walk like a giant.

This one turned out pretty good but don’t expect miracles – the RDS
is a tough venue to tape in with the wind blowing across the pitch.

At least this year I remembered my windscreens so whilst there is
some swirling on the sound at times there is very little wind noise.

The rain held off for most of the set but it did start raining pretty
heavy during Cortez so expect some rain noise.

I did very little editing etc with this – I just boosted the levels and
split the tracks. The levels on the acoustic tracks is still pretty low.

If someone wants to work some magic & improve it by all means feel free to do so

  • just pm when you’re seeding so I can get a copy.

For the old fashioned amongst you who still burn to disc I’d suggest splitting
after Blowin’ In The Wind.
