Comments from the original uploader: (1) without Garcia. (2) Roger Troy introduces the band after Don’t Judge A Book. Jerry introduces the band after Wale’s Boogie. Band consists of Jerry Garcia, Howard Wales, Jim Vincent, Jerry Love & Roger Troy (aka Jellyroll). FM Broadcast WBCN. Many tapes don’t contain the encore, and honestly, I’m unsure of the correct name, though an encore was played.

The material of this show is I quess mainly Howard Wales tunes, not the normal Jerry songs that evolved later with M Saunders. The tracks do not quite match all of the differtent songs listed for the show, but some nice long “funky” jams. This I believe is one of the earliest Jerry Shows on tape and the sound quality is good. Hope you enjoy.

add to lineage: >MKWact>DART Pro98>EAC WAV Processor>MKWact

Most tracks were edited to eliminate between songs chatter and
tuning using DART Pro98 and then trimmed to correct CD sector
size with EAC’s WAV Processor. The intro on d1t1 was trimmed
and the level raised to match the band’s level.

All files were normalized to 98% and corrected for DC offset
with EAC’s WAV Processor and then checked for noise with
DART Pro 98.
Noise was removed with DART Pro98’s retouch tool if possible.

1. removed a bit of noise from d1t01 (left channel) at 1:50.224
2. reconstructed audio to fill a gap in d1t01 at 3:46.375 to 3:46.395
3. removed click from d1t02 at 0:0.014
4. removed click from d1t06 (left channel) at 0:31.790
5. removed noise from d2t01 at 3:40.580 to 3:40.605
6. removed noise from d2t02 at 0:9.295 to 0:9.306
7. removed click from d2t05 at 1:21.306
8. reconstructed audio to fill a gap in d2t05 at 4:47.551 to 4:47.725
9. removed gap (reel flip?) in d2t09 at 11:07.889 to 11:08.961
(original timing) and blended the transition.
10. removed gap (reel flip?) in d3t08 at 1:01.560 and blended the transition.

Caveat:
This sbd is on the muddy side, and it’s quite possible that there is more to this lineage.

Notes:
–The Other One cuts out during the 2nd verse, presumably seconds before a segue in the Cryptical reprise, which is completely missing
–Cosmic Charlie cuts in shortly after its beginning
–Feelin’ Groovy Jam in Dark Star starting at 17:08
–probably several minutes at least are missing off the end of Dark Star. It is not known whether it segued directly into Alligator, or a different song that is now missing formed the bridge, or it could have come to a dead stop before Alligator was started.
–only the last few seconds of the first Alligator remain.
–Sound Forge was used to correct the pitch of the recording and boost the amplitude for this seed. I cannot be sure, but I believe the previous shn seed is also from the same source and is therefore about a quarter step flat regarding pitch. If you aren’t sure whether you have a pitch corrected copy, check against the timings listed on this seed.

Boot CD > CDR > EAC > wav > FLAC Level 8

From the original uploader
This is a complete audience recording of the June 26, 1976, show by the Stills-Young Band. This was widely booted as a single disc called “Evening Coca-Nuts,” which was missing many of the songs. This is the complete version from a boot called “Both the Great Men, Part 1.” On sound quality, I rate it an A compared with other audience recordings of that era. Very nice. In a few parts that don’t sound so good (e.g., “Suite: Judy Blue Eyes”), it’s because of a sloppy performance rather than a poor recording. Most of this is really nice, IMHO.
Since it’s from a commercial boot, I don’t know details of the recording. If anyone wants to claim credit for recording this, please do so.
Artwork is included.
