Shadowman Original Notes:
Firstly, the sound quality of this show (and the 16 songs) are much better quality than heard on bootlegs such as
‘Got Satisfaction…If You Want!’, ‘Beat Beat Beat’ etc.

This is an hour long documentary taped by me from BBC Radio 1 on Saturday 30th November 1985 called ‘The Stones At The Beeb’.

It was a show presented by the DJ Andy Peebles and was part of a series of ‘At The Beeb’ The shows broadcast including The Beatles, David Bowie, Marc Bolan and Elton John.

It contains 16 complete songs (although the show fades out 2120 South Michigan Avenue) As well as interviews with Brian Jones and Mick Jagger from 1965 and 1985 interviews with Bill Wyman.

I believe the above recording/broadcast dates and show names are correct.

Alternatives are as follows:
~ Rhythm & Blues, Camden Theatre – recorded 19-3-64, broadcast 9-5-64
(This show is introduced by Long John Baldry as ‘Rhythm & Blues’
not ‘Blues In Rhythm’ as per Felix Aeppli’s website and various bootlegs)

~ Joe Loss Show – recorded 10-4-64, broadcast 9-5-64
(Felix Aeppli’s website says this is Recorded April 13, 1964;
originally broadcast in ‘Saturday Club’, April 18, 1964
but this ‘Stones At The Beeb’ show indicates it was on the ‘Joe Loss Show’)

~ Saturday Club – recorded 1-3-65, broadcast 6-3-65
(Felix Aeppli’s website calls this the “Top Gear” show
but 6 March 1965 was a Saturday and ‘Top Gear’ I believe was broadcast on a Thursday evening)

~ Yeh! Yeh! – recorded 20-8-65, broadcast 30-8-65
(some of this show was also broadcast on “Saturday Club” on September 18, 1965)

Because the cassette tape I originally recorded this on back in 1985 was a 90 minute tape it meant that after 45 minutes I had to turn over the tape to keep recording. Therefore I missed a few seconds of the 1965 interview between Tony Hall and Mick Jagger from the ‘Yeh! Yeh!’ show. So I have used those missing few seconds from another source.
Enjoy!

New Notes:
Thanks goes out to original uploader “Shadowman” for sharing this rare gem
with some really interesting interviews included as a bonus.
This bootleg CD was also available back in 1986 on a 2 LP vinyl bootleg titled “Stones At The Beep”.
Unlike other copies of this show – with this one “Shadowman” has provided us with the Whole One Hour Documentary including the Bill Wyman 1985 interviews and a couple of other interviews.

Much Respect “Shadowman” and appreciation for sharing this rare copy of The Stones At The Beeb 1985 with us. Original FFP, Original Wave File Report, EAC Log Files, New MD5, Original Art Work, Original Info File and new Rich Text Document with new notes included.

There was a supposed recorded interview with Bob by the BBC after the Wailers finished “Get Up Stand Up”  however it is still unknown if the interview also took place November 26, 1973.

Much Respect to my friend Bomba for sharing this rare gem with me,
please find the 2 Original enclosed text from Bomba in the folder.
Here’s some of the original notes and comments:

Notes:
“In praise and to the glory of the Rastafari, InI bring one love and Inity
to the massive with this gem from the original Wailers.
All of your favorite artists are together on three rare tracks from June of 1973.
In perfect harmony are Bob, Bunny, and Peter, backed by the solid rhythms of Carlton and Family Man.
Studio quality with a little hiss for historical accuracy, this is as special as
any material traded among his fans.
Then comes the second of the two sessions, this one from November 1973 without Bunny.
The Peter Tosh material, though, is still great.
With an open heart, you too can share some of this joy”. Bomba

Comments: Recorded this show from the FM radio back in the early 80’s. Not quite sure of the exact performance date. Tom asks if anyone was there the night before, and the radio DJ indicates London. I got the year 1978 from the local radio DJ’s when this was broadcasted. Nice sounding early era show for Tom and the guys. Enjoy.

Pink Floyd – London, England (11/04/73)

Pink Floyd
Live for a Friend (The Robert Wyatt Benefit Concert)
Rainbow Theater, Finsbury Park
London, England
November 4th, 1973

Historical note: first time since years and last time ever PF performed the same night with their friends of Soft Machine (apart from Nick Mason who occasionally drumed for Wyatt in solo and Wyatt singing on Mason’s Fictitious Sports). This is the second show (9pm) of that evening. The title comes of course from the fact this was a concert in benefit for former Soft Machine frontman Robert Wyatt who had broke his spine recently (he fell from a 3rd floor window during a party). Very last concert of that 1973 year for PF, before their 74 French tour. Last time a tune from the soundtrack of La Vallée was played. OBC here runs veeeeery slow, but it is not the tape, they played it like that! Really worth to get for OBC/When you’re in, since those are the best versions in terms of SQ and probably performance too.

Released on label Ganja, #14, the SQ is EX-. Lineage: AUD[LOW]>SILVER CD>CDR

Big thanks to the original taper, and to the trader (sam) who hooked me up with a copy.
This came to me as the first 12 tracks on a 17-track CDR. (trenton81 partial as filler)
I did an EAC extract & pulled those first 12 out of the fileset (ignore 13-17 in the report), made FLACs & there ya go.
No modifications at all, original track marks intact.

NOTES

Wow, sweet; a lotta old Fall soundboards are not the best.
THIS one is actually really fine, a bit hissy, but you’ll take that for the clarity here.
There’s a couple spots where the tape speed slips slow for a bit, but then returns to normal.
That’s about it – very nice overall, given its age.

MES does a nice long rant over the start of Before The Moon Falls (a snip of it’s in one of the samples).

The unofficial Fall website’s listing for this gig is a bit longer:
* uncut Spector / Printhead / Psycho Mafia.
This is all I got for my copy.
