silver CD-Eac-Wav-Flac.

There really isn’t much to say about the quality of this Hollow Horn release as they always seem to produce the best they can do with the resources available. As you would expect, from the age of the source tapes there are hiss and blemishes. This first volume of seven, covers the early years from 1958-1962 of the young master, at grassroots, plying his trade. This is for the diehard fans….

Notes:

Review:
This is a great digital audience recording of a fantastic show. The recording is up front and well mixed. The audience noise is minimal. The vocals are sharp and well defined, floating well on top of the music. Dylan stretches the phrasing into new and wonderful places. The band is tight, and all instruments blended quite nicely. This CD was copied and released a few months later as ‘Tangled Up In Blue’. The package is typical of this label. One fairly nice photo graces the inside and serves as the cover as well. One of the first slim-line jewel cases.
