This was after Peter played the Greek Theater in L.A.
He was going to see The Who, so this is a “just one more question” interview for 21 minutes. There is some good answers about the future of music, when put in the context of The first WOMAD concert two years later, Peter seemed a bit like a wide eyed young man.
And a detailed explaination of the Lamb Lies Down movie project. Someone find that screenplay!

I got this recording in 1982 from a well known Gabriel trader in italy the recording is good to very good and is a great show.
At the end of the show the taper mentions all the tracks that have been played for same reason think he was trying to make it
sound as though it was broadcast on the radio for some reason

Many many thanks to the trader for sending me a copy & for taping the show.

I hope you enjoy this show please ask if you want to upload it to other sites as i will be uploading these shows to a couple of other torrent sites.

As Usual Please dont convert to mp3 ( only for your own use if you do ) Please Keep all the info files md5 etc in the folder tis is so that
other collectors know which version this is etc most of all DO NOT SELL
Please also buy the bands offical stuff and support them etc.
Thanks to all the Artists for there great music and to all the traders for keeping live music alive

Hi to all
Welcome to my series of mostly uncirculated masters & very low generation shows that i recorded or received in trades in my younger days most of my masters have not been circulated or only traded once or twice i used to trade a lot in the 70s – 80s & i have many many shows well in excess of 7,500 tapes
Of these shows about 120 – 150 are my masters they where always on my trading list but not many got traded so i boxed them all up in the late 80s now i have decided to go through them & upload some of them.
I recorded many bands from Genesis ñ Bowie ñ Springsteen – Hawkwind – Hackett ñ Gabriel ñ Marillion plus many many others i will try & upload a least one show a week if not two.
To record theses shows i used a Sony portable hand held tape recorder with built in stereo mics. I always used good quality tapes to record on mainly T.D.K.
I used to insert the tape deck in a empty coffee flask with the inside taken out of the flask to get past the security ah those where the days. The only thing i ask is please donít sell these recording & donít convert to mp3 etc & if you do ( only for your own use ). Please donít change any of the files or
info files etc this is so that people can tell the difference between this source & other sources as many people like to compare different versions of shows.
Also please do not remaster these shows the reason for this is these days there are far to many remasters of shows. Its ok have one remaster etc, but some are remastered that many times by different people there can be at least 10 different remasters of a show from the same source & it can get a bit tedious.

I again got this recording off the same trader in Denmark i got the Genesis Copenhagen 82 tapes from and again it contains a aftershow private interview this time of course with Peter. This recording also is NOT taken ( sourced ) from the 3LP set “CONTACT” as i got this a few weeks after the show i think it is from a differant source than the ones used in the LP set but i can’t comfirm it.

The quality is again good to very good and inc both “no self control” and ” wallflower” and ends unusually with “humdrum” Many many thanks to the trader for sending me a copy & for the taper for taping the show.

I hope you enjoy this show please if you want to upload it to other sites please wait a week or so as i will be uploading these shows to a couple of other torrent sites. after it has run its course on here

As Usual Please dont convert to mp3 ( only for your own use if you do ) Please Keep all the info files md5 etc in the folder so that other collectors know which version this is etc and most of all DO NOT SELL.

PLEASE NOTE.

This series is from my own personal collection they are NOT SOURCED FROM ANY CDRs / OTHER TORRENT SITES ETC. They are from recordings that i traded for between 20 – 35 years ago on audio tape as stated above they have all been boxed up for the past 20 or so years.
This is the first time any of them have been Digitally transfered and torrented. All i am doing to the recordings in nero wave editor is inproving the volume ( if low), also equallizing the left and right channel where needed. Removing hiss etc ( If i can ). Recordings in this series that have a generation linage are the correct linage as to what i was told when i was sent the recordings. Most of the traders i traded with where well known traders so i have no reason to believe they are not the true Linage if i had any doubt to the linage at the time i did not write it down on the tape so all the low generation recordings in this series have a well known and correct linage.

Please do not remaster any of theses If you wish to do remastering of this source find yourself a better quality version and remaster that. This version is how i remembered hearing it all them years ago and how it sounded when it was recorded the way it should be heard.

THIS IS FOR SOME PEOPLE WHO ALWAYS HAVE TO PUT THERE TWO PENITHWORTH IN AND ARE NOT SATISFIED I AM UNABLE TO GET TO THE TAPE HEADS TO AJUST THE TAPE AZIMUTH UNLESS I TAKE IT APART EVERY TIME AND SEEING AS IT IS A £1000 TAPE DECK WELL YOU KNOW WHAT MY ANSWER TO THAT WILL BE. I PUT SAMPLES UP TO EVERY RECORDING I UPLOAD MOST PEOPLE 99% ARE SATISFIED I PUT THE SAMPLES UP SO YOU CAN HEAR THEM BEFORE YOU DOWNLOAD THEM IF YOU DONT LIKE WHAT YOU HEAR ITS SIMPLE YOU DONT HAVE TO DOWNLOAD IT.
I OR OTHER UPLOADERS ON THESE SITES DO NOT HAVE TO SPEND TIME AND EFFORT RECORDING THESE SHOW ON A PC ETC TO UPLOAD THEM BUT WE DO AND DO IT GLADLY SO THAT OTHER TRADERS CAN HAVE THE SHOWS ETC.

AND ENJOY THEM.

I HAVE NEVER SAID THE SHOWS I PUT UP ARE PREFECT IN ANY WAY BUT I DO THEM TO THE BEST OF MY ABILLITY IF YOU DONT LIKE IT DONT DOWNLOAD THEM. AS TO REMASTERS AS IVE SAID ABOVE REMASTERING A SHOW ONCE FINE BUT SOME PEOPLE REMASTER THEM THAT MANY TIMES YOU HAVE 10 VERSIONS OF THE SAME SHOW ( GENESIS, FLOYD, LED ZEP COMMUNITY ARE MURDER FOR IT ) SOME OF THEM WOULD REMASTER THERE OWN MOTHER IF THEY COULD.
ONE BECAUSE ITS TO BASSY THEN ONE BECAUSE ITS NOT BASSY ENOUGH OR THE DRUMS DONT SOUND RIGHT OR SOMETHING ELSE ETC YOU GET MY DRIFT.

SOME REMASTER ARE FINE AND YES BETTER BUT MY POINT IS ONE SHOW REMASTERED 10 TIMES JUST BECAUSE SOMEONE DOES NOT LIKE THE WAY THE LAST REMASTER OF IT SOUNDS TO THEM THEN IT GETS TEDIOUS. I UNDERSTAND EVERYONE LIKES TO GET THE BEST RECORDING ETC BUT YOU HAVE TO REMEMBER 95% OF ALL LIVE SHOW HAVE BEEN DONE BY THE AUD AND MOST ARE RECORDINGS THAT ARE OLD AND NOT DONE ON MODERN RECORDERS. THEY ARE AS THEY SOUND AND HAS PEOPLE REMEBER THEM WHEN THEY RECORDED THEM AND HOW THEY TURNED OUT AT THE TIME. IF YOU WANT PERFECT RECORDINGS I SUGGEST YOU JUST SICK TO OFFICAL
LIVE RECORDINGS.

THATS MY MOAN FOR THE DAY SORRY LOL

Please also buy the bands offical stuff and support them etc.
Thanks to all the Artists for there great music and to all the traders for keeping live music alive.

Because KROQ radio would not shut up about “The secret Peter Gabriel” show,
and gave free tickets all day.
This small dance club for about 250, had close to 1000 Gabriel fans packed inside. To make it worse he was over an hour late, and the opening act, a mime tried to stall for an hour, by melting into a pool of tears.
The club was a small door that opens to a long narrow room, instead of the stage at one end, it was in the middle of the room with a riser for 100 seats. That’s it! Then the band put PA speakers on both sides of the stage, cutting off the view of 60% of the people. The back cover is about what it looked like with Peter climbing on and around speakers to find the audience. And John trying to play guitar over his head.
I was lucky to be guest of the band not KROQ so I got in (many did not) and sat on the floor on the risers by the second row. I taped that night, but my mic was blown by the kaos. So I have 3 tapes of this show, this is the best quality stereo tape, and much better than what was circulating by far.
This was recorded from about the spot I created for the back cover, so just in front of the speakers, right side of the stage.

So….Im not great with all the technical stuff I’m afraid.
This is from an old tape I got around 1979. I copied the tape back then, and now I’ve bumped it to my PC and given it a bit of a tidy in Goldwave.
The tape has “Excuse Me” cutting out about 20 secs before the end to have it picked up again at the start of the second side. I’ve tried my best to cut these two tracks together. There’s also a little cut after Solisbury Hill between tracks.
Sorry for lack of info – I’ll tell you a story instead.

Riiiiight back when I first started getting interested in bootlegs I was working in someplace called a “record shop” that made good business selling “vinyl”.
If you don’t understand that last bit – ask your dad about it. Anyway, I was only 13/14 and working with 2 or 3 great guys, older than me, all into different types of music.
Boots were far more “deviant” and hard come by in those days…and more exciting I guess. I approached my wiser colleague John “Sniff” S-son one day and asked if he had any “bootleg recordings” he might like to …just give to me…for free!!…to make copies of!!
This sort of request , back then, would usually be met with the arched eyebrow and masonic bootleg stare…or some demand for quite a lot of money. Ten quid even.
To my surprise John showed up the next next week with a bag of tapes for me!
These were probably some of the first ever bootlegs I heard and, as I’m sure is the same with you all, I listened to them so much I know every snort and cough!
Feelgood Story #2

John was a massive PG , and Genesis , fan. He told me this story about going to see Gabriel on his Gabriel III – Intruder – whatever tour.
He and his friends travelled all the way down from Leeds to the Hammy Odeon, London, to see a show on the tour.
Getting there mid afternoon they just parked themselves on some benches near the hall to wait for the evening ( probably in the days when British pubs shut in the afternoons -remember that!)
To their disbelief who should walk by but Mr Peter Gabriel himself! They trotted over to chat to him and get their heads signed and stuff and he said “Fck off kids – I only do this for the money and I don’t give a fck about the world….or STing…or Bono even!!”
………oops….wrong story…he said – “go round the back door and I’ll let you in”. So , incredulous, thats what they did. They waited…and they waited….obviously it was all a bit of bravado on Pete’s part and he’d forgotten them …and then a head pops out of a door – not just any head – PG’s!!

“Pssst! this way!!!!!” And they follow him into the hall.

Well, for those who saw that tour, and I’m not one and I’m jealous, it was the one where they used torches a lot – coming through the audience at the start with flashlights. My friend got to sit in the front row in and empty Hammersmith Odeon while the band ran through a full dress rehearsa shining spots in their faces and generally making them feel like the luckiest kids on earth!!

Peter Gabriel – he’s one of the god guys.

No idea what generation it is, but it’s pretty listenable, please enjoy PG at his best!

“Where’s Rael!!!!!!”
