disc 1

First Set:

d1t01. Warming Up/Turnaroundphrase
d1t02. Tune in 5
d1t03. Maiysha
d1t04. Unknown (Untitled original F, Untitled #19, Untitled original 750505)

Second Set:

d1t05. Right Off
d1t06. Mtume
d1t07. Latin (Lovin’ You)
d1t08. Ife

Notes:

– bass notes distorted and sound severly overloaded
– stereo recording with strong monaural characteristics
– noticeable hum which seems anti-correlated with keyboard during set 1

– d1t03: 2:05 might be either a very quick transition by the band or a splice/cut in tape; 17:37 tape flip/gap

– d1t05: 12:17 might be a small gap in music or quick transition

– d1t06: 7:01 gap in tape / unknown amount of music missing

– d1t08: fades out, unknown amount of music missing

– the two sources QC’ed for this date originated from the same digital transfer though they have different md5 and related signatures
they differ by the amount of zero padding at the start and at the set break between tracks 4 and 5, so only this source is used.
after adjusting there are then 2 locations (other than gap between sets) where for less than a frame there are minor differences. At these two locations neither recording sounds like it has a blemish.
d1t04: ~ 1:47, d1t08: ~ 5:38

Jimi Hendrix & Jim Morrison – New York, NY (03/07/68)

Jimi Hendrix and Jim Morrison
1968-03-07
New York, NY
Soundboard
Bootleg –> EAC Secure Mode –> Flac

Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix, Johnny Winter, Buddy Miles and other musicians all find themselves at New York
City’s Scene Club in 1968. What do you they do? They jam! Morrison is clearly wasted and sings some interesting
lyrics (“Morrison’s Lament”). This is the kind of bootleg they’ll never release. Its historical, funny, and cool to put
on at parties – no one else has heard it.

Here’s the setlist according to the artwork:

1. Red House
2. Wake Up This Morning And You Find Yourself Dead
3. Bleeding Heart
4. Morrison’s Lament
5. Tomorrow Never Knows
6. Uranus Rock
7. Outside Woman Blues
8. Sunshine of Your Love

ALD-Soundboard recording (a Jim Fiesler recording)
Here’s another fine Jim Fiesler recording brought to you by TheCommish!

Lineage: ALD/SBD > D8 (listen box–from the parking lot) DAT > CDR
CDR > EAC > WAV (see editing notes) > Flac Frontend > FLAC (SBE-aligned)

Additional editing notes:
* Deleted 31 seconds of opening applause at beginning of Track 02
* Faded in applause on Track 102, faded out applause on Track 15 (with Nero)
* Re-tracked show by combining in Nero, splitting with CD Wave; as you can imagine, this isn’t an easy task for a comedy act like Carlin…I tried to separate the show by main topics discussed (also, the track names are made up to fit the material)
* Show was recorded out-of-phase; show was phase-corrected (to be “in-phase”) via Cool Edit Pro

ALD (assisted listening device) soundboard recordings are usually knocked for their “thin” sound quality (high amount of treble, not enough bass), but I don’t think that’s a real issue here at all. As such, Jim’s files have been unaltered for sound quality (i.e., no EQ performed)–if some of you prefer to have more bass in your ALD recordings, I’ll let you do your own EQ work since it then becomes a matter of personal taste. As for me, I think the show sounds great, as-is.

Jim Fiesler notes:
(regarding his ALD-SBD shows): “ALDs (fm-sbd) perfect captures in most or all cases..however somewhat lacking bass..more than regular fm..The best place to rec these shows was from the park lot..! the signal was the best there..!”

First of three shows in Texas during the “1982 US Tour”, 9th show of the tour. It doesn’t appear this has been seeded before in a quick search so thought some dimers could use it to fill a hole, if it has been here it’s been a long time.

Lineage: Silver –> EAC –> WAV –> FLAC 8 –> MWP

Notes from the original uploader: The sound quality is quite good, being a soundboard recording from the early seventies. Unfortunately there are a couple of glitches throughout the disc that are on my original.

Interestingly this disc is reviewed on the excellent Bassman site (http://www.algonet.se/~bassman/bootlegs/91/hmv.html) but although the serial number and the artwork are exactly the same and I am absolutely certain I have an original silver, his tracklisting differs from mine. The tracklisting on the depicted artwork there shows the actual tracks on my disc and does include the “orgy instuctions” and not “Rebel Rebel” and “Panic in Detroit” as Bassman claims.

Info: An interesting read about this last Ziggy concert is to be found at The Ziggy Stardust Companion (http://www.5years.com/Retire.htm)
The Jeff Beck tracks were never officially released due to royalty/copyright issues.

Tracklisting:

01) Introduction/Hang On To Yourself 3:16
02) The Wild Eyed Boy From Freecloud 3:19
03) All The Young Dudes 1:34

Kingrue Notes:

All you BB King Fans are gonna LOVE this New Release. First Time Anywhere in Near Complete Form.

This Comes From KUOP-FM Radio Broadcast. For years only a short 35 minute version was available. A few years ago i obtained a much longer recording. The Month and Day were a Mystery, though I’ve been able to verify a date. During the show BB King mentions that the band is going to fly to Europe, the day after tomorrow. The 1985 UK tour started on July 6, 1985 in Edinburgh. By deduction that makes this Saratoga concert either on July 3rd or 4th. Depending if they landed in the UK and played that night or if they had 1 extra day to prepare for the show. I’m going with July 4th.
