7/26/00 Wantagh, NY

version “a”

excellent sound [A-]; has lots of occasional wind noise;
in comparison to LB-0519 this is a different recording (does not have the talking
like at begin of d1t6) and has less hiss and is not as harsh and is complete and
should be considered an upgrade

crowd noises d1t4 2:57, hissing d1t4 3:12, 3:35, d1t5 0:21;
discontinuity pop d1t6 0:38, d2t1 0:00 before music;
has drops within first 15 seconds of most tracks; drop d1t5 0:48

Source 2:

LB-8224

version “d”
bittorrent download 12/09; lots of limiting and clipping make Bobs vocals very scratchy; different recording than LB-0519, LB-2714 and LB-6513 based on diffferent crowd at end of d1t3; in comparison this is harsher and scratchier than those;

(this is probably the same recording as a bittorrent from 9/06 which was a different recording any of previous recordings and suffered from heavy compression limiting with lots of clipping on Bob’s vocals making them scratchy and harsh so sounded much worse than those; described as “trade audiocd > xACT > flac > azareus > torrent > dime” and originally had 7 filler tracks which were removed); (did not listen to all of this)
lots of digi-pops on d1t11; drop/cut between cdrs; drop d1t7 0:00, d1t8 0:00

An additional sound master (ASM) by my good buddy Olav66, probably one of his very first additional sound works (thanks to him for sharing it).
Unknown taper.
Lineage: Audio CD-R > T-RackS 2.0.4 > FLAC > Dime

Dime > HD > wav (Flac Frontend 1.1.3) > Adobe Audition 1.0 (basic fixing & shy attempt of remastering work) > flac (Flac Frontend 1.1.3 – align on SB option – level 8 – verify on)

This primarily was Olav ASM, LB-3104, which certainly sounded a bit too harsh and had lots of clipping. I made some changes on it reducing harsness and avoiding clipping at the measure of my possibilities.

My contribution:

1. Gaps removed on track breaks, with especial mention to one patched on d2t15 @ 7:14.849
2. Lightened the sound on some pops at track breaks making them more listenable as on
d1t5 0:00.012, d1t7 0:00.060 or d1t11.
3. Deleted 11 sec. silence at the end of d1t8 (after a fade out)
4. Smoothered sound de-equalizing (gentle mid cut around 36 db range) and
de-amplifying (-6 db) the complete recording to diminish harshness to a certain extent.
I know it can still be improved but my skills on this matter aren’t wide enough,
still very limited indeed.
