DEEP: Another reissue from the Scorpio folks, this one presenting the Highway 61 Revisited acetate tracks, including different mixes, mono mixes, outtakes and alternate/single versions (most notably the “Desolation Row” outtake). Quality is excellent but do expect the flaws in the acetate to cause some pops and clicks, and there are short periods where a buzzing noise is evident. A nice collection of things you may or may not have elsewhere. The package features some wild color pics of Bob from this period and many B&W pics from 1965 inside the studio.

NOTE: The CD packaging identifies this disc as “Highway 61 Revisted [sic] Again.” Although the disc is most often reported as taken from Highway 61 Revisited acetates, the source for most tracks is apparently a reel-to-reel compilation of session mixes made in early August 1965 for copyright/publishing purposes.

From BOBSBOOTS (http://www.bobsboots.com/CDs/cd-g42.html

This is about as good as it gets, audio wise, as is evident by the many releases of this show. All ages catch Bob (TMR)—All ages Catch Dylan (Mainstream) –He is the Man (Rattlesnake) and this one here from the Wolf. They are all soundboard except for TMR. The soundboard for this show is simply flawless. Not only is the sound exquisite, but Bob and the band are brilliant. Dylan bends and drags his words as only he can do. The band is tight and keeps up beautifully with Bobís driving vocals. This recording prooves just what a force that Dylan and his band are. All of the labels were smart to leave off bonus tracks, for anything from 2002 would pale horribly on the same disc as this show.
The artwork, however, is a tad flimsy (which is uncharacteristic of this Japanese label). The photos are accurate and very appealing, but the front cover is only a double sided glossy square and the back inside liner is blank. The cds are silk screened to match the front cover. The lack of packaging is hardly a deterrent from obtaining this title, however, if youíre looking for a more aesthetically pleasing package… then the Rattlesnake release would be the way to go.

Review from Van-the-Man:
This is an excellent sounding audience recording of a great show. Very impassioned performances. The artwork, as you would expect from Tonight Only, is superb. It features a poster from the actual show and images from outside the Olympia Theater.
