Notes from DylanDave

OK Folks, here’s the lineage

2002/3 – orig newly purchased Scorpio silvers (borrowed) > CloneCD > Kodak ‘Ultima’ Gold CDR (2 COPIES)

2016 – Retrieved 2nd (unplayed) safety copy from storage THEN

‘FREAC’ Ripping software at min (4x) read speed, with internal LG Retail DVD-R Drive > FLAC
(utilising ‘anti jitter, full cdparanoia mode, ID3 Tag creation, CDDB Tag database)

THEN

Combination of ‘mp3TAG’ software, ‘Metamorphose’ renaming software and sheer bl**dy minded perseverance > fully sorted, renamed and consistently tagged file set.

THEN

‘Bob’s Boots’ for scans download and full info (Thanks) , creation of setlist details for each disc etc.

Note from DylanDave

This is a definitive must have boot set. Obviously, as with all compiled sets, and particularly vintage one’s, some of the tracks will have subsequently surfaced in upgraded quality. This is particularly true for the Toad’s Place trax on disc 1. However, what you get here is the consistency in mastering which usually only comes from professionally glass mastered boot CDs. Scorpio are a particularly strong label in this regard, as anyone familiar with the Genuine Bootleg Series or Genuine ’66 or Van’s Genuine Philosopher’s Stone etc will testify.

I’ve thrown the kitchen sink at this one and tried to do my very best to present it to you in as good quality and as ordered a fashion as possible.

Enjoy this classic.

BobTalk:

– Thank you! This is a new song we been kind of putting together here, ha-ha. Anyway, itís called I Ain’t Gonna Go To Hell For Anybody.
– Thank you. Does this sound half-way decent out there? Oh yeah? There’s no way to tell from up here. Anyway, when I, when I was a young kid growing up I used to sit around all the time, the trains used to roll through
town three or four times a day. And I used to watch them trains just wondering where they were going. And one day I knew I was gonna go where those trains were going. Anyway, [calls from the audience] Oh I forgot! Thank you. We been here before in Seattle. I always like to come to the home of Jimi Hendrix. I met Jimi Hendrix in New York when he was there. [more calls from the audience] All right, all right! Oh, thank you! Anyway we’re gonna do a song now. I wish Jimi was around now, cause I know he’d record it. (before Slow Train)
– Thank you. That was for Chris. Is Chris still out there? Is Chris there, is she still out there in her burgundy dress? He-he. That was pretty cute, Chris. I know you just wanted to wear it.
– Thank you. The vocalists tonight were Carolyn Dennis, Clydie King and Regina McCreary. On the keyboards, Willie Smith. On lead guitar, Fred Tackett. On the bass guitar, Tim Drummond, and on the drums Jim Keltner.
(at the end of In The Garden)

Alternative recording. from lk fall 80 set;; I now think this one is the same source tape as the other 29th Nov in this set., See what you think., It was labeled by pete as “Not the same as the JF master”, so he did a new transfer., To the best of my knowledge the source attributions are misleading, so I’ve left them out., Possibly JF didn’t tape ANY of the Nov 80 shows.(see losslessbob)., I’ve left this (alternate?) in the set anyway…., LJK Dec 2005.; bittorrent download 04/09; this is a close eac match on d1t10 to lk LB-3666; that has some discontinuities at beginning of some tracks like d1t4 and d1t5 not on this one; (did not listen to all of this)

Source: bobandbruce reported, “I got this one in a trade, so I have info about the source, but it seems to be an audience recording. I would rate it to good or even very good. I have never seen circulating the complete set, so I have no idea about the Tom Petty tracks. Any information would be appreciated. The beginning of the recording is cut, but I didn’t find any other faults. Lineage: 2(Audience recording > ? >) CD trade > CD-R > EAC > WAV > FLAC Frontend > FLAC….I got this one in a trade several years ago. As I have never seen this one circulating, I decided to seed it here. This is the complete Concert of the 15 October Wembley Stadium gig of the ‘Temple of Flames’ tour, including the, I guess, full sets of Roger McGuinn and Tom Petty. As it was no problem to find out the Bob dylan setlist, I could figure out the song titles of the Roger Mcguinn set, but I had no idea about most of the Tom Petty song titles, so if anyone could help me out and could replace the question marks it would be highly appreciated.”
