This is a third generation recording of an excellent early Game tour gig. The quality is superb, and surely an upgrade of all previous versions. Unfortunately the last track is TYMD, but at least we have most of the concert. Save Me cuts out at the end, so we’re missing Now I’m Here as well. It’s awesome to hear Freddie sing Need Your Loving Tonight like the record version, because his voice was in such good shape early on in the tour. For that song alone, this bootleg is worth obtaining, but the entire show has Freddie in magical voice. Brian’s guitar solo is a bit long and wandering, but he really does create some pretty things this night. Overall, this show is one of the very best.

Originally shared by The Real Wizard on QZ. Here are his notes:

This is a great copy of the Zurich audience tape. Thanks to Leo for the tape, kindly supplied by Davide Traversi, head of the Italian Queen fan club “We Will Rock You.”

This tape runs through Sheer Heart Attack. This show often circulated without the second encore, as in this case. The last three tracks are patched in from another version (certainly the same audience source), and sound almost identical to the rest of the show.

My notes:
This is the best (to my knowledge) version of the recording of the first show from the 1980 European tour, which is absolutely an astonishing tour.
The band is on fire.
This first night is a great show too even though they’re not yet in the shape they’d be in by the time they’d hit Birmingham, London, Brussels,…
That said, if someone has a copy of the Strassbourg December 16, 1980 show or a decent copy from the last night (Munich December 18, 1980)…;-)

from pf-roio db:
The BBC’s “Omnibus” series documented the Apollo 11 space mission in a programme entitled “What If It’s Just Green Cheese?”. Pink Floyd performed live in the studio, providing suitably spacey music throughout the programme. Collector have had audio tapes of this for several years and refer to the music as “Moonhead”. The band claim they improvised the entire six-minute instrumental from scratch.

from “In The Flesh” book :
A live Tv recording session for the one-hour BBC1 TV Omnibus special entitled ” So what if its just green cheese”, one of many programmes covering the Apollo 11 moon landing. It was broadcast on 20.7.69 at 10.00pm and featured Judi Dench, Ian McKellen, Michael Horden, Roy Dotrice, Marian Montgomery, Dudley Moore and the Dudley Moore Trio. Pink loyd performed a 5-minute improvisation which has become known as “Moonhead”
