Final day of Jazzfest and fifth day of festival fun. I made the first but again and rode over with mostly the same people. By the time I grabbed food and got set up the Mia Borders had started. She is a local artist I did not know of. Her set was pretty good and it was cool how she brought her kids out to join her. Next up was Dragon Smoke. I
wanted to see this set. The band was Ivan Neville, Eric Lindell and the rhythm section of Galactic and they didn’t disappoint. The third band at the stage was The Radiators. I used to see them often in college but it has been over 30 years since I have seen them. I really enjoyed the set. At this point I decided rather than go to the main stage for
Trombone Shorty I was going to stay for Joe Bonamassa and Bonnie Raitt. I had the perfect spot and was tired and not looking to fight crowds. I am glad I did. Both the Joe Bonamassa and Bonnie Raitt sets were great. I knew I was seeing both in the future which was the
reason to explore. Staying put and seeing Bonnie with both Jon Cleary and Ivan Neville was the way to close the week. Only one screw-up in 5 days and well over 20 sets is what I would consider a success.
